We had a fun filled weekend. Clark came home Friday night and asked everyone to load up in the van because we were going to grandma’s for supper. What the kids didn’t know is that grandpa had arrived. So, they had a nice little surprise waiting for them—-they were pretty excited to see him. Grandpa got lots of hugs and many snuggles from a certain 8 year old girl:o)
Saturday morning we were off to Carter’s league championship game. He got to play at one of the high schools. Those boys were floating to think they were playing BIG TIME! They did a great job and are now the CHAMPIONS!!!! Go Colts! This team did a fabulous job. They started their season 0-4 and came back to win it all —– you have to be proud. Note: I’m not one of those mom’s that believes or encourages winning everything (their 5 & 6) just tells him to do his best every time he’s on the field and to have fun. But, this was pretty exciting to see the underdogs win! My proudest moment of the day——————Carter lost his shoe while trying to run down an opponent and he never stopped he just kept going and going. Anyway, a couple of pics from Saturday.

I had more, but they all involved the other boys and I didn’t want to include them on my blog without parent permission.
Then we headed off to Chuck E. Cheese to celebrate the season. Let’s just say the kids had fun! Now we have the ALL STAR game left in December and football will officially be done for the year.
We came home and just kind of kicked back. Clark went out to his deer lease for the first time with his dad and the kids and I were settling in for what I thought was going to be a relaxing evening. You know—have an easy supper, movie for the kids, put the kids to bed, watch a chick flick and then go to bed myself. Well, the first 3 happened. We were watching the kids’ movie when Shealyn asked where Maizie was. I had let her out and in the hustle and bustle of getting the kids ready I forgot to let her in (she does not scratch at the door). When I went to check she was gone. She had dug a new hole through the opposite corner of the fence. I called and called for her, drove the neighborhood a couple of times with no luck. So needless to say, Shealyn went to bed thinking all the worse things an 8 year old can think…what if she’s lying in the road somewhere, what if Mater ate her (the Great Dane next door) or what if someone took her? She was crying and a little upset with her mom. I reassured her that Maizie would come back and everything would be fine (really not sure at all). Yet, my worst fear was the coyotes. Needless to say, I kept checking at the back door every 1/2 hour or so until I went to bed at 11:00. I went to bed without Maizie. I woke up at 2 –no Maizie, 4– no Maizie, Shealyn joined me in bed at 6–no Maizie, finally got up at 7:15 –no Maizie, drove around the neighborhood again–no Maizie, somewhere in here Shealyn goes back to bed crying telling me it’s all my fault if she doesn’t come back, 8:30 — no Maizie, 9:30 the doorbell rings. It’s the neighbor telling me Maizie was standing in their driveway at 11:30 when they got home. Whew! Maizie spent the night in their bathroom and was pretty excited to see us and slept most of Sunday! Needless to say Miss Maizie now has every potty break supervised. Now, if you’d learn to not dig you might get a little privacy Miss Maizie Blue!
After the excitement of an early Sunday morning the kids and I were off to church, then came home to relax, do a little housework and some laundry and wait for daddy’s return. Once he was home he did a few “honey do’s” for me and then he totally relaxed. All the kids including Clark were in bed by 8 and I got the evening to myself. I relaxed!
