Olympic aspirations?

Clark and I are such Olympic Fans (summer are by far my favorite) that I’m afraid we might be adding 3 more to the fan base.  Let’s just say since the opening ceremonies our TV has been on pretty much non stop and about the only thing it’s been tuned into is the Olympics.  We’ve watched Michael Phelps, diving, track and field, gymnastics, kayaking, LOTS of volleyball.  I’m quite an animated spectator of volleyball and the kids sure got a big dose of that today when the US men were playing against Serbia to get to the medal round.  It took them all 5 games, but they pulled it out.  I don’t know that it can top the Karch Kiraly, Steve Timmons, Craig Buck and Jeff Stork days, but it’s very hard for me to not get drawn in.  And then of course I just marvel at the athleticism of the beach players.  Just watching them jump out of that sand makes me tired —- hhhmmmppphh.  Really I marvel at the athleticism, strength (emotional and physical) and the heart of all the athletes, but hey this is my blog and I happen to LOVE volleyball.

Anyway, on to the purpose of this post.  As I was very animatedly watching the US men see saw back in forth with Serbia the kids told me what they want to do in the Olympics except for Shealyn.  Carter has been glued to a TV anytime Michael Phelps has been on, but he surprised me with telling me he wants to be a runner.  Payton has loved anything that has happened at the CUBE as well, so she wants to be a swimmer and a diver for the WOMEN!!!  I’m glad she wants to “play” for the women :o )

Hope you’re enjoying the Olympics as much as we are.
